At Kissrock Adventures, we craft authentic, locally-guided experiences across Tanzania—led by those who know the land, culture, and wilderness from the inside out. Our company was founded by two native Tanzanians, John, who grew up just outside the gates of Tarangire National Park, and Linus, raised near Ruaha National Park in the southern highlands. From a young age, nature wasn’t just part of our surroundings—it shaped our lives.
We started our journey in tourism as porters on Mount Kilimanjaro, carrying gear while silently carrying dreams. Through years of determination, skill-building, and a deep love for our country, we rose to become professional guides. That journey, from hardship to leadership, inspired us to create Kissrock Adventures—to uplift others and to share the real Tanzania with the world.
The name Kissrock Adventures was born on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, inspired by the iconic Kissing Rock—a powerful symbol of strength, unity, and resilience. It reminds us of our own climb in life, and it stands today as a symbol of what we offer: real adventures with heart and meaning.

We’ve created a porter development program to train and support local porters in becoming professional guides—just like we once did. We also provide our team and their families with healthcare, education support, and insurance.
